Angola Freight Services
Angola represents a growing opportunity for trade and industry around the world. Although the population was estimated to be only 17.3 million in 2009, population growth was estimated to be 2.6% in 2008. A large proportion of this population is concentrated in Angola's capital city Luanda which homes roughly 5 million residents.
With a GDP of $74.4 billion (US dollars) in 2009 and an annual growth of GDP to be estimated at 2.5% this nation represents a growing market.
Angola's primary natural resources include petroleum, diamonds, iron ore, gold, uranium, copper and granite amongst other mineable resources and in 2009 Angola is estimated to have exported $40.8 billion (US dollars) worth of products. Most of these exports (36.4%) went to China along with 26.9% to the US and 19% to the EU.
Imports include machinery and electrical equipment, vehicles, textiles, food, medicines and military goods to a value estimated to be $15 billion in 2009. The primary sources of these goods include the EU (43%), China (17.4%) and the US (8.5%). Other large sources included Brazil, South Korea and South Africa.
