Transvalair keeps the beer flowing just in time
When a manufacturer of plastic taps for Heineken beer suffered due to late deliveries at breweries in Holland, it switched to Transvalair and within two months its On Time In Full (OTIF) ratio jumped from 40% to more than 90%. Now all of the company’s trucking requirements are handled by Transvalair.

SI Protech is a custom injection moulding company that specialises in technical project management, fast prototyping, and design and manufacture for the plastics and packaging industry.
Problem:
SI Protech was responsible for delivering the plastic taps that keep Heineken beer flowing to a number of breweries in Holland, but its previous transport supplier was missing the deadline too often, with an OTIF ratio of only 40%. This weakened the company’s reputation and meant it missed some slots.
Because the breweries operate on a just-in-time basis, arriving on time is essential, so much so that the companies (or company) will get a black mark for arriving even half an hour late.
Transvalair solution:
Within one month of transporting the taps to breweries, Transvalair had made a big difference to SI Protech’s OTIF ratio, and lifted it to more than 90% after only two months of operation.
Previously if a truck was late in meeting its deadline, the brewery would call SI Protech enquiring as to its whereabouts. Things are very different now; if Transvalair knows a delivery will be held up, it calls SI Protech in advance, enabling them to organise a later delivery time with the brewery.
Despite common weather and traffic problems, Transvalair’s 24/7 coverage and satellite technology enables them to consistently deliver in good time
